WORKING ON MY DUMMY

Me, Japanese photographer Kazuma Obara and Dutch book designer Teun Van Der Hejden working on the dummy of my book at 10b Photography during the workshop "The book design, going beyond the form".  Such a great time and also a very important step towards the conclusion of my project.

DESILLUSION MAGAZINE BLOG

Desillusion Magazine just reviewed my book on their blog. They were the first who, about one year ago, supported my project about the skateboard tours in Sicily. I remember when I first sent them my portfolio. At the time my project didn't have a name and a precise idea behind. A few days later I received an answer email from Sebastien Zanella asking me if I had somebody who could write an article.
In about three days I came up with the idea of "The Recent History of Sicilian Skateboard Tours" and I stater writing the story by myself. That's where everything about the published project started and it has been a true pleasure collaborating with them.
Having transformed my project into a book was really something great for me and also a way to conclude this project in order to move on towards new ones.

Best
Claudio

THE PHOTO BOOK, GOING BEYOND THE FORM

In a couple of weeks I'll be in Rome to take part to the workshop "The photo book, going beyond the form" with Teun van der Heijden and Jan Rosseel. The workshop will be about all the aspects of how to turn a body of work into a book and it will take place at Francesco Zizola's studio, 10B Photography.
Teun has been curating the catalogues and the exhibitions of the World Press Photo for the past 10 years. He has also been making some great photography books as Stanley Greene's Black Passport.
Right now I'm working on the editing of the project that I'll bring at the workshop: Mustarjancu Kids. A project on which I've been dedicating the past four years.
I'm really looking forward to start this trip.
More updates soon,
Claudio
