SKATEBOARDING IS NOT A CRIME
A walk around Vicenza with Davide Martinazzo and Jacopo Volpe. The minds behind two great projects I love: Stange Skateboards and Dodici Cicli.

Moon over marine by Dead Kennedys (1982)
A couple months ago I took a plane and showed up at my dear friend Chiara's birthday party. She had no idea I was gonna be there. The party theme was Tropic Thunder and it was very fun :)

Sabine is my favourite project from Magnum photographer Jacob Aue Sobol. "In the autumn of 1999 he went to the remote East Greenland village of Tiniteqilaaq to photograph. The visit was only supposed to last a few weeks but after meeting a local girl, Sabine, he returned the following year and stayed there for the next two years, living the life of a fisherman and hunter."
Take a look at this video about the project where Sobol describes his new life in Greenland and his love for Sabine.
Great music by Ennio Morricone from the movie Uccellacci e Uccellini by Pasolini.

If you are into black and white, skateboarding and jazz music please check out also this other great clip. All straight from my favourite city, NYC (check here some of my shots from the big city). Cheers!

Time to go out for a while.
Funny story behind this shot. I was cruising around in Manhattan in the break between some medical conferences I was following. When I saw this woman walking towards me I took the first picture. As she noticed me she got very mad and so she took out her point and shot camera and took a picture of me while saying "This is what you get!". That's when I took the second picture.
NYC, Spring 2011 (also featured on Hamburger Eyes No.18)
Good music and a great video too.
Humans of New York is project by Brandon Stanton that begun in 2010 when Brandon started having conversations with people in the streets. Brandon approached over 10.000 people, talking to them and taking pictures of them. The project turned out to be a great photoblog and a bestselling book. Recently Brandon has been focusing on refugee stories and I think he is doing something really great. You can find out more about it by following the Facebook page.
If you want to know more about how Brandon approaches people take a look at this very interesting conference. Enjoy!
