DA GRANDE FARÒ IL PITTRICE
Since I was as little kid I used to spend a lot of time in my mother's studio. She is a painter and she introduced me to drawing. When I was 7 I told her that I wanted to be a painter so she asked me to write it on a piece of paper and put a date on it.
And so I did.
And... the reason why I became a photographer instead of a painter is another story.

VANTABLACK PT II - (I THINK I JUST SAW A BLACK UNICORN)
I don't think I'm done yet with my interest towards my favourite colour. I previously made this post about Vantablack, the darkest black ever produced on planet Earth.
Today I just found out that in early 2016 British-Indian artist Anish Kapoor (who you might remember for the Cloud Gate in Chicago) received exclusive rights to use Vantablack for artistic use. Get over it, he is the only one. But if you are into rare stuff you can buy a little sample for a lot of money.
Here is one of the coolest FAQ about Vantablack:
"What does Vantablack feel like?
People often tell us they have an urge to touch a Vantablack surface when they see it for the first time. However, there are a few good reasons why this wouldn't be a good idea. First of all, a Vantablack consists mainly of free space, with the nanotubes offering little resistance to direct contact. The sensation would be akin to touching the underlying substrate."
Going back to Sir Anish Kapoor this is what he said about it: "Imagine a space that's so dark that as you walk in you lose all sense of where you are, what you are, and especially all sense of time".
THE LARRY CLARK MANIFESTO...

A TIME AFTER WHICH WE ARE NEVER THE SAME
"In all our lives there's a fall from innocence, a time after which we are never the same. It happened in the summer of 1959, a long time ago...
For some is the last real taste of innocence and the first real taste of life. But for every one it's the time that memories are made of."
Stand By Me - Rob Reiner
