FRAMMENTI

Frammenti is the new project by Italian filmmaker, photographer and skateboarder Enrico Cerovac. The book will be presented in Milan on Friday November 27th (6.30 PM) at Fibol Shop (Via Vigevano, 1).

“Enrico Cerovac started documenting skate sessions with friends, trips and anything happening around him, using his father’s HI8 camcorder, back in the late 90s. As a skateboarder, he capitalized on his ability to move and adjust to all environments, both urban and not. Throughout Europe, he shot zillions of pictures, using compact and disposable cameras, for both practical and economic reasons, and collected and classified hundreds of rolls and Mini DV tapes. “Frammenti” springs from the need to gather in one single zine a selection of these picture, taken from the late 90s to this day. From photography to moving images, every shot selected for this project comes from a series of experiences, immortalized by a Sony Mini DV and a Beaulieu Super 8 cameras: these pictures, fostered jealously, are a personal interpretation of all the moments, the places visited and all the people met so far, who shared important experiences with the author and contributed to his personal and professional growth.“ (Forty)

Looking forward to see it. Great job Enrico!

THE WOLFPACK

Last night I finally had the chance to watch this great documentary called The Wolfpack by Crystal Moselle. The Wolfpack is the story about a family who raised and homeschooled their seven children in the confinement of their house in Manhattan Lower East Side for fourteen years.

DA GRANDE FARÒ IL PITTRICE

Since I was as little kid I used to spend a lot of time in my mother's studio. She is a painter and she introduced me to drawing. When I was 7 I told her that I wanted to be a painter so she asked me to write it on a piece of paper and put a date on it.
And so I did.
And... the reason why I became a photographer instead of a painter is another story.

MAGDALENA SWITEK

It was never easy for me to explain why I chose black and white. It is so strange that something so far from reality like black and white photography can actually assumes the traits of something so true, so objective and utterly real. And when I see Magdalena Switek's works that exactly how I feel. Her images show a perfect level of intimacy with the subject and you have the feeling that the only space between her eyes end her subject has been filled by the camera.
No air. Only Magdalena's eyes, her camera and Pestka. The project about her daughter.

It is a pleasure for me to be in the same issue of Hamburger Eyes along with Magdalena. Please take a look at her awesome images and her blog.
