Ma fra i capelli d'altri amori muoiono fiori che non ho"

San Berillo is one of the historical districts of my hometown (Catania, Sicily). In the late fifties the area was part of a redevelopment plan, unfortunately never completed. After the intervention the area known as San Berillo was drastically reduced and today is mainly know as home of prostitution and two major African communities, the Senegalese and Nigerians.

When you get a book at Tipi Bookshop it comes in a decorated box made by Andrea Copetti. After I received Afterword by Fukase (wonderful book about his cat) I left the box behind a tent. A few weeks later Zira started collecting her toys inside it and using it to sleep. Read the new interview about Tipi Bookshop HERE !
I'm very happy that one of my pictures from my project Head of the Lion is among the Winners of Tipi Photo Bookshop contest Window of Wonder along with Merve Seckin and Arian Christiaens.
The pictures have been glued yesterday on the shutters of the bookshop in Bruxelles and will be there for the next three months. Then they will be replaced with the pictures of the other winners. Stay tuned!
Thank you so much!
Just watched this great short suggested to me by Colin Pantall after a portfolio review of Head of the lion. Make sure to take a look at his new book, All quiet on the home front!
A few days ago I had the chance to see the original missing notice of my uncle Ettore, scientist mysteriously disappeared in 1938.
I signed a new t-shirt for Diesel with a picture I shot a few years ago in Brooklyn The piece is part of the current collection "ART IS TEE is a unique DIESEL project featuring exclusive t-shirt designs by some of our favoutire creatives from around the world. Timeless styles. Available for one season only."
Endless love to Rini Giannaki and Nicola Formichetti for believing in my art!

Day number two of Jim Goldberg workshop at Atelier Smedsby working on Head of the Lion dummy <3
Since I was as little kid I used to spend a lot of time in my mother's studio. She is a painter and she introduced me to drawing. When I was 7 I told her that I wanted to be a painter so she asked me to write it on a piece of paper and put a date on it.
And so I did.
And... the reason why I became a photographer instead of a painter is another story.
In the next days I will be at Polycopies, Paris with Cesura Publish.
Don't miss the book launch of Cesura new titles, more info HERE. See you there!
After watching Stanger Things I found out more about cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD). Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin in the series) suffers from CCD and he strongly supported a campaign to help people with CCD. Please help raising funds to support the quality of life of individuals with cleidocranial dysplasia!
